Why should a carpenter hire an outsourced payroll service?

For your bricklaying business to be HMRC-compliant, you have to make sure you follow all rules and laws. You can get help with this from us. We will handle every part of payroll by acting as an outsourced middleman and using the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) payment plan.

Our experienced team will take care of all deductions, remittance slips, and other administrative tasks, such as checking papers for rights to work, public liability and public indemnity, employer liability, and income protection insurance. If you work with us, you’ll have a personal account manager who will be there for you during and after business hours if you need help or have problems.

What are the advantages for a carpenter of having someone else do their payroll?

There are many good reasons to let Bishop Oak handle your payroll. Here are a few examples:

  • You can focus on other parts of your business when you have a team to help you with back-office tasks.
  • A branded portal where workers can look at all of their papers in one place. This cuts down on misunderstanding and paperwork.
  • A group of people who answer all the questions that workers have, saving you time.
  • A payment system that is fully compliant and connected directly to HMRC. This makes being compliant less stressful.
  • Money-back guarantee: if you don’t like our service, we’ll give you the workers’ margin back.

What is CIS?

If you work in the building business, you may have heard of CIS, which stands for “Construction Industry Scheme.” CIS can be used by carpenters and subcontractors in the building business to pay their taxes. The plan was created to stop people in the construction business from cheating on their taxes. If a contractor or supplier wants to use CIS, they have to sign up with HMRC and pay their workers according to certain rules. Contractors have to check on their suppliers and pay taxes based on what they find. You can learn more about CIS and how it can help your building business by reading our CIS blog or getting in touch with our team.
